Cliff hanger

After her mastery of trees, Ali decided to scale a sheer rock wall. Actually it was only a couple of feet off the ground with plenty of foot holds, but she was proud of her accomplishment anyway. She also met a new boy in the process. Meet Max, who she continued to talk about for the next two days.

Hanging with the big boys

A couple of days ago I met up with a couple of friends at the zoo. Their two little boys showed Ali how to climb trees, and now she is an addict. She never quite got as high as the boys did, but she had fun all the same. Hopefully you can spot her in the first picture, she is peeking under the branch in the back.

She always takes things so seriously. Look at that focus!

Ruined Blanket

On Tuesday Ali went down for her nap around 11 am. When she woke up she sat quietly in her bed. She usually needs about 15 minutes of alone time to "wake up." About 5 minutes into her "alone time," I heard a buzz followed by a small crash. A couple of seconds later I heard her scream. I ran in to her room where I encountered the fresh scent of burning flesh. As I freaked out, I tried to put together what had happened. The electric socket next to her bed was the obvious culprit, so I called 911. After an ambulance ride and a day and a half in the hospital, she is in perfect health, exceptions include the 4 small burn marks where the electricity exited her body. The blanket on her bed was not so lucky. It will forever have a hair-clip melted onto it. Moral of the story...well I don't know if there is one, but I am looking.

Just like her mommy

I was taking some pictures of Alicia being silly, when she tried to do a somersault while still looking at the camera. As soon as I took the picture I had to laugh because I have a picture of myself at the same age doing the exact same thing. I wish I could post my own silly picture, but it is in California under a dark hidden pile somewhere in my parents attic. Some people say she looks like me, but I think it's pretty cool when she acts like me. Why do we want our children to be little clones?

Ali Sleeping

Last night we put Ali to bed, only this time, we didn't get the usual nighttime battle that we usually encounter. Instead she hugged her bunny and 2 blankets and quickly closed her eyes. We were pleasantly shocked and quietly left her room. Several minutes later, I went into her room to check for any surprises that she left in her Princess diaper. Below is what I found:



As you can see, she tucked her bunny in with 1 blanket and fell asleep 1/2 on the bed and 1/2 off. We thought it was hilarious.

First trip to the dentist

Alicia had her first trip to the dentist this week. We geared up for a screaming fest, similar to her trips to the doctor, but suprisingly, she didn't have too hard of a time. (I think it is becuase they gave her the cool sunglasses to wear). She got a princess wand as a reward after she was done and since the trip brushing her teeth is less of a chore. (It could be that she got to pick out which color toothbrush she wanted...pink of course)!

It may look like she was not enjoying herself here, but really I think she just didn't want us embarrassing her by taking pictures.
